Now I don't want to jinx myself, but I really feel great! The 2nd trimester has been a breeze. Now, as every week goes by there are definitely things I am realizing I can't do (or rather can't do the same way as I could before.) But that's what modifications are for, right??
I really have a belly now, and it has its way of reminding me if I ever forget! In my yoga class, there are certain poses where all of the sudden I'm like what is that?? ..... oooooh that's my BELLY resting against my leg. It kind of makes me smile and giggle in my head, and then I just adjust, and I am good! Another funny realization is that my teacher would always look at me as if to say, "remember you are not supposed to do that!" And I would respond with an expression to say, "Whoops! I forgot!" My theory on this, was as long as it felt okay, I was okay... but as my pregnancy progresses it has been interesting to realize OH WOW that's why you say I shouldn't do that pose.... I feel it now! Things that I used to be able to do with ease, are slowly growing in difficulty!
I gave up running early on, (and REALLY miss it lately), but am becoming one heck of a power walker! We have a great off-road trail by our house, and our dog Zoe loves to explore with me.
Things I love lately: Fresh Fruit! I cut up a fresh pineapple the other day, and then proceeded to sit down on the coach and eat 1/ 2 of it in one sitting! whoops / yum! Peanut butter on anything and everything -- even just on a spoon! shhh don't tell Jason ;) Chocolate milk (I make it with powdered Ovaltine for a healthier alternative) and of course ice cream. We have an amazing homemade ice cream shop by our house, that basically knows me by name!
I can only hope my pregnancy continues to go this smoothly. I know there will be ups and downs ahead, especially as my belly continues to grow and I enter my third trimester, but I have to say I love being pregnant!!!!!!
