Growing up, people always told me when you find "the one", you will know. Well after deeming myself "single-for-life", I wasn't quite sure... that is, until I met Jason :) We happened fast, and haven't looked back since. I will vouch, after meeting Jason, I knew :)
We met in 2009 in Washington, DC. I was attending George Washington University for Graduate School, and Jason was stationed at the Pentagon. We were set up on a blind date set up by a mutual friend, and fell for each other fast.
We were engaged in 2010 in Italy. Less than a year after we met, while on vacation in Rome, Jason proposed. It was "in the movies perfect!" After a fancy dinner, we took a horse drawn carriage ride around the city. Jason got down on one knee, with The Colosseum illuminated behind us, and asked me to be his wife. I obviously said YES!!!
We were married in 2011 in Maine. I grew up in Maine, and it had always been my dream to be married there. Our wedding was everything we wanted it to be be! The only exception, our ceremony and reception were scheduled to be outside overlooking the ocean. The weather had other plans for us. We were forced to move everything inside... but looking back I wouldn't have had it any other way. Plus, rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck, right? :)
We honeymooned in Saint Lucia, it was paradise :)
We bought our first house in 2012 in Virginia. We love our home, and are having fun making it into our home sweet home
What's next? well, we don't really know but we are very excited to see what 2013 will bring. In the meantime are absolutely loving married life!
